Objectives (Nursing Degree)

The development of the training plan must provide the nurse with adequate training for the development of their professional activity, which will always be carried out:

a) From respect for fundamental rights and equality between men and women.
b) From the respect and promotion of Human Rights and the principles of universal accessibility and design for all (according to the tenth final provision of Law 51/2003, of December 2, on Equal opportunities, non-discrimination and universal accessibility of people with disabilities).
c) In accordance with the values ​​of a culture of peace and democratic values.

The general objectives of the degree are established in the following terms:

It is intended that the nursing degree title, train nurses and generalist nurses with scientific and human preparation and sufficient training to assess, identify, act and evaluate the health and care needs of healthy or sick people, families and the community. The phenomena that particularly concern nurses are the responses to real or potential health problems of individuals, families or groups. These human responses range generically, from health needs to recovery from illness. Thus, the role of the nurse when caring for healthy or sick people is to evaluate their responses to their health status and help them to carry out those activities that contribute to their health or their recovery or to a dignified death. , helping them if possible, to regain their independence as soon as possible.

In summary, the studies of the nursing degree are aimed at future graduates:

1. Acquire broad knowledge of nursing science, health, human and social sciences and to respond to the health needs and expectations of individuals, families, groups and the community.

2. Develop skills for the application of nursing care procedures and clinical guidelines.

3. Develop the ability to establish positive relationships with those assigned to your care.

4. Use scientific methodology in your interventions.

5. Acquire the necessary tools to develop a critical and reflective attitude.

According to RD 1393 of 2007:

1.- That the students have demonstrated to possess and understand knowledge in an area of ​​study that starts from the base of general secondary education and is usually found at a level that, although it is supported by advanced textbooks, also includes some aspects that involve knowledge from the forefront of your field of study.

2.- That the students know how to apply their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional way and possess the competences that are usually demonstrated by means of the elaboration and defense of arguments and the resolution of problems within their area of ​​study.

3.- That students have the ability to gather and interpret relevant data (within their study area) to make judgments that include reflection on relevant social, scientific or ethical issues.

4.- That the students can transmit information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialized and non-specialized audiences.

5.- That the students have developed those learning skills necessary to undertake further studies with a high degree of autonomy.

6.- Incorporate self-learning to continue progressing, as an instrument of development, innovation and professional responsibility through continuous training.

7.- Contribute to the knowledge and development of human rights, democratic principles, the principles of equality between women and men, solidarity, environmental protection, universal accessibility and design for all and the promotion of the culture of peace .

8.- Having the ability to gather and interpret relevant data in the field of Nursing to make judgments that include a reflection on issues of a social, scientific or ethical nature and transmit information, ideas, problems and solutions to a public both specialized and not specialized.
