Objectives (Double Degree)

1. Know and understand the morphology, biomechanics, physiology, pathology and behavior of people, both healthy and sick, in the natural and social environment.
2. Know how to apply information and communication technologies to the field of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences and physiotherapy.
3. Know and understand the sciences, models, techniques and instruments on which physiotherapy and sports sciences are based, articulated and developed.
4. Apply the physiological, biomechanical, behavioral and social principles to the different fields of physical activity and sport.
5. Know and understand the methods, procedures and physiotherapeutic actions, aimed at both the therapy itself to be applied in the clinic for re-education or functional recovery, as well as the performance of activities aimed at promoting and maintaining health.
6. Acquire adequate clinical experience that provides intellectual abilities and technical and manual skills; that facilitates the incorporation of ethical and professional values; and to develop the ability to integrate the knowledge acquired; so that, at the end of the studies, the students know how to apply them both to specific clinical cases in the hospital and extra-hospital environment, as well as to actions in primary and community care.
7. Design the physiotherapy intervention plan taking into account criteria of adequacy, validity and efficiency.
8. Execute, direct and coordinate the physiotherapy intervention plan, using their own therapeutic tools and attending to the individuality of the user.
9. Prepare the discharge report for physiotherapy care once the proposed objectives have been covered.
10. Intervene in the areas of health promotion, prevention, protection and recovery.
11. Knowing how to work in professional teams as a basic unit in which professionals are structured in a uni or multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary way
12. Carry out physiotherapeutic interventions based on comprehensive health care that involves multiprofessional cooperation, integration of processes and continuity of care.
13. Acquire clinical management skills that include the efficient use of health resources and develop planning, management and control activities in healthcare units where physiotherapy care is provided and its relationship with other health services.
14. Incorporate the ethical and legal principles of the profession into professional practice as well as integrate social and community aspects in decision-making.
15. Understand the importance of updating the knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes that make up the professional competencies of the physiotherapist and specialists in sports sciences.
16. Communicate effectively and clearly, both orally and in writing, with users of the health system as well as with other professionals.
17. Participate in the development of protocols based on scientific evidence, promoting professional activities that stimulate research in physiotherapy and sports science.
18. Know and understand the physiological and biomechanical factors that condition the practice of physical activity and sport.
19. Know and understand the effects of physical exercise on psychological and social aspects; as well as on the structure and function of the human body.
20. Know and understand the structure and function of the different manifestations of human motor skills.
21. Design, develop and evaluate the teaching-learning processes related to physical activity and sport, paying attention to the individual and contextual characteristics of people.
22. Promote and evaluate the formation of lasting and autonomous habits of practice of physical activity and sport.
23. Plan, develop and control the treatment and / or training process at its different levels.
24. Assess the physical condition and prescribe physical exercises oriented towards health.
25. Identify the risks that arise for health, from the practice of inappropriate physical activities.
26. Plan, develop and evaluate the performance of sports-physical activity programs.
27. Develop programs for the management of sports organizations, entities and facilities.
28. Select and know how to use sports material and equipment; as well as internationally recognized validation instruments, suitable for each type of activity.
29. Develop skills for adaptation to new situations and problem solving, and for autonomous learning.
